Health Check, Care and Support

After reading, hearing about and knowing an acquaintance who passed away recently due to alcohol related health complications (young to middle aged), I am grateful that my blood tests came out clear for my liver and kidneys after 15 years of consistent heavy alcohol abuse.
Nurse said it's the genetics in some, while other less severe cases can be at a higher risk of developing complications. I am very lucky and grateful for that.
I went to my SMART recovery/goal setting meeting and then saw my mental health doctor later. I am grateful for all the support on here and out there for all the continuous help, med care, therapies, you name it.

Thank you! It's a relief, and in that way I feel very lucky.
Still in early recovery phase, finishing up day 11.
Sending you best wishes and success your way.

Thanks Dee, but now I have 2 issues to face, the old I first ran from and recent in the decision to quit drinking.

I'm conscious with all the tools I've been given in therapies and the steps I need to take (or avoid) in order to keep me from relapsing into the prior drink old me. Then of course, most recent is still focused primarily on staying sober.
