Just received a bizarre email.
I'm 19 and I have Borderline Personality Disorder. I post on a BPD message board and just received an email from someone there. She told me that alcohol and marijuana are better for someone with BPD than prescription medication. She told me to ditch my meds and drink and smoke a bit instead. Does anyone else find this kind of advice irritating to the max?

Welcome to the recovery forums. When I first found crystal meth I thought it was the answer to so many things in my life too, as with pot and alcohol. However, I found out that illegal and highly addictive substances were not an appropiate way to make myself the way I wanted to be. I was self medicating and I had no idea what I was doing. Let's just say I got into a whole lotta mess from thinking that way. It's always best to be under a doctors care.
