Powerless over drugs, and lots of other stuff!!
My name is Alissa, and I'm an addict!
I went to a meeting tonight, and the topic was "powerlessness." Wow, just the topic that I needed to share on.
I know that I am powerless over drugs, but you see, I have to remember that there is lots of other stuff that I am powerless over.
I have to go to court tomorrow, for custody of my little girl. I've prayed and prayed about this. I've placed my daughter in God's hands because you see there is no better place for her. I've asked God, for his will to be done. And I have faith that whatever happens tomorrow, is exactly what is supposed to happen. So with all of that being said, I know that I am going to be alright, and so will my daughter!
I've also been praying for acceptance, and I'm trying real hard not to have any expectations, because I have to keep in mind, that it may not turn out how I want it to. And if it doesn't, I'll just keep on keepin on. Right?
Thanks for letting me share!

Hi, Allyssa. Beautiful post on powerlessness. Sounds like you are doing great. Now go to court (and don't forget to say the serenity prayer while you are there) and things will work out as they should. We are with you in spirit!! Let us know how it goes, ok??
Powerlessness... Yes. Powerlessness and Unmanageability. How much pain could we have saved ourselves if we hadn't been so hell-bent on controlling everyone and everything around us. We need to accept life on life's terms, and sometimes that means feeling uncomfortable and not trying to force things to work out.

Mallory came home yesterday!
Hello everyone!!
Court went great! My daughter came home with me yesterday! I was in front of the judge for about 4 min. He asked my social worker, what were the recommendations. She told him that they were recommending permanent custody being given back to the mother. He asked both lawyers if they had any questions, they both said "No questions, no objections!" and that was it. I got custody back! YES!!
Phinny, I did say the serenity prayer right before I walked into the court room!!
Thank you all for your prayers, and I know that yall were there with me in spirit... I felt yall!!
Hugs and love,
Alissa
