Im am now having problems with substitution with alcohol. I started using opiates as a replacement for alcohol, and now I am substituting with alcohol, because the the withdrawl from methadone was so bad. I am at the point where the withdrawl is berebal, and I want to quit

I will succede with the abstinance of all substances, but it has been a very hard road. I still crave opiates, even after a strong will against using them. I just wonder how long it will take for me to feel normal?

I do know that your body needs to return to homeostasis - an equilibrium.

I too had a huge problems with prescription meds...any of them and recently stopped AGAIN !!!! I started to substitue alcohol and am really struggling with abstaining from drinking. It is real hard and i know exactly what you are going through. Go to meetings if possible. Keep posting. I started posting here then relapsed and just came back. It does help to have someone to bend thier ears. Good luck and know that you are not alone. It is really hard but believe in yourself and stay positive
