What The Hell?
I was just looking at a review of this yesterday at Amazon. I think it refers to "normal" people. In the review, it says something about deal breakers - abuse, ADDICTION, etc. It got good reviews, but again. I don't think it applies to the kind of relationships we find ourselves in.
Okay - no rotten tomatoes please but I can't imagine ever getting to a point where there isn't something I can improve on to help my relationships - and I have to say in my life the really troublesome ones have nothing to do with alcohol!
I do think reading about things that fix is good - it's not the same as fixing people, it won't mean fixing everything but improving on things that make peace rather than more hassle isn't such a bad plan.

I don't like Dr Phil but I never read that book, perhaps it might be helpful anyway? Even if you deal with addictions and all those problems, that book might provide help that's worth looking into. Cuz honestly, imo, no relationship is ever 'normal', no one's ever 'normal', there ain't such a thing as 'normal'.

Okay, if he's talking about relationships, I'm all for that.
Obviously, my first impression was that he was talking about people.
And "fix the one you got" just made me wince.
No rotten tomatoes for you Eq.
Your effervescent attitude about life and relationships is always a breath of fresh air.

Hey all. I wasnt attempting to mislead you Gabe The title means to me, fix the person you've got.
The full title is
Love Smart, Find the one you want, Fix the One you Got.
There may be some valid information in this book. It appears that the majoority of the book is dedicated to finding a new relationship, seems fair enough. I may have jumped the gun, bc I have not read the book. I have it, but dont really care to read it.
After flipping through, it does seem to apply to "Healthy" Non addicts or alcoholics in relationships, so I dont think it applies here for the most part.
Im a little sore with Dr P, so perhaps I should shut my yapper, but I would spend the $20.00 on shoes instead.

i read a book called "how to fix your man without him knowing it"
it came down to pretty much what al-anon says, "take care of yourself"-so i would bet that is the jist of Dr. Phil's book as well.
