Could anybody tell me please, how long does it take to stop feeling a mess when cumming off alcohol. I keep getting sore throats, bad gumms, and lack of sleep. It has been 7 days since I last had a drink, the longest time for over 10 years now, and I cant stop thinking about having a beer?

I'm not sure, alcohol wasn't my deal, but I think there is a sticky in the alcohol forum that talks about what to expect.

Yea, I found it (I think) here is the link
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...ect-47857.html

that may give you more of what your looking for. I'm not sure. But hang in there just keep pushing yourself, it does get much easier with time. That I know, my first few weeks off meth, I thought I would rather die than be off the stuff. It's been 10 weeks and I feel great. I actually stepped over a bag of meth the other day. You'll get to the point eventually where it's not so hard. Just hang on and stay strong.

first days are always the hardest. get support from those who encourage you to stop drinking and remember it is garbage. you have passed the haredest point in recovery and that is accepting your problem. remember there will be times when you feel down however that time will pass.stay strong. to stay focused find other activities.
