I made it through Day 5

I was a little worried about Day 5 becasue it being Monday means going back to work and seeing some of my happy hour buddies. It went pretty good. I got a lot done and felt damn happy to be there and still have a job. I did have a small bout with anxiety which sucked but I just left for a while and walked around. That helped the anxiety pass. So I am feeling pretty good about this recovery so far. I really am glad I found SR right before I decided to quit, It has helped me immensely. You all are great!

Day 5, sounds GREAT!
Did any of your friends ask you to go out? That will be a tough test, always was for me, and sorry to say, I often didn't have the right answer prepared or the right strategy/defenses available to resist the call to poison myself, my brain would turn off and away I went

Congrats Mister7 :bravo

Mister7: I did have a small bout with anxiety which sucked but I just left for a while and walked around. That helped the anxiety pass.
See that, all it takes is little changes, little steps, give it time and patience and you'll be skipping along.

Luckilly no one asked to go out tonight. I'm just going to have to say no when they do. Becasue in the past I have made that mistake. I have so much riding on this like my wife and child that I won't do any different or fool myself into thinking its OK to "just have one" as they say.
