It's Been 28 Hours
It's Been 28 Hours
I have managed to make it 28 hours without smoking. I quit yesterday at 3pm when I finished a pack off. It is now 7pm
How do I feel? I feel okay. I do find that my lungs feel congested. There is a tightness in my chest too. I think part of that is anxeity.
I will go to bed early tonight if I feel the need to smoke. I really want to do it this time.
Please pray for me to have strength to stay quit.I have learned that I can't tell myself I am quitting forever, I have to do it one day at a time. I can handle that much better. Also, those of you who are considering quitting, try this:

Thank you all,
Tina

Well done, Tina! Just for today is manageable and that's the way I like to think of it too. Those symptoms you mention are common after quitting - they should go away soon. If they don't, think about seeing your doctor. My voice has changed a bit, but if I cough the hoarseness goes away so I think my lungs are in the process of healing.
Keep it up, Tina - you are doing great! :bravo

You are doing super.!!!
Yes, what you have describes sounds like healing.
I coughed for about 2 weeks, but when I quit, I had a really bad cold.
I can't imagine, now, having suffered through that cold, while smoking.
Now, I don't cough at all, and my lungs are increasing their capacity every day.
How do I know this?
Because I run farther and farther every week.
I have a goal of 6 months to be able to jog the entire route that I mostly walk right now.
Keep up the good work
It is sooooo worth it!!
