Doing better 3 days in
Just a quick update for you guys, I think the withdrawal symptoms have finally ceased, thank god.... now I'm just really depressed..... waiting for effexor (anti-depressant) to kick in again, the alcohol always makes it stop working, probably why my doctor told me to stop drinking and get help.... good advice, huh?? Anyway, I signed up for this substance abuse program my town offers and I'm considering going to AA as well, I know I need help. Reading this board has been a help so far and thanks again for the support! oh, just so everyone knows I suffer from generalized anxiety disorder and depression, that is why I've been taking ADs for past 5 weeks.....

Effexor and most Anti-depressants augment the effects of booze - hence recommendation not to drink whilst taking them.
Welcome to SR and to Recovery......
Jerz Boy...
Glad you are here to share in your recovery. Congratulations on your 3 days.
I deal with alcoholism and manic depression... I have found it best to seperate the two and treat them accordingly.
Alcohol is a depressant and is a big, big nono for those of us who suffer with depression and anxiety.
Keep coming back
