I just figured out
I just took a test on line that said I am 100% An Adult Child of an Alcoholic. Me myself I am an addict. But I realize that alot of my thnking comes from being an ACoA. My dad is the one who is an alcoholic. He is the one who told me I am an ACoA. He is is recovery and has been since I was like 6 or 7. I know he has like 14 years soberity. I am currently going to AA meetings because that is where I feel comfortable. There are no AcoA meeting close to me. I feel so lost because I also have alcoholic tendancies. I am An alcoholic, Addict, Co-dependant, ACoA. oh I also have an eating diorder. I am working my steps. I feel like I am changing. I just want to know if there is a book for ACoA like there is for AA and NA. I have wrote my addict story down. I do not mind sharing it that is why I wrote it. I have realize I am a real F.I.N.E. person
F= F&%^ked up
I= Insecure
N= Neuroctic
E= Emotional.
I just figured to let you know I am here lurking persay.

Hey, Tigger!
I find that Al-Anon is a wonderful place to get support for ACoA issues. There are some Adult Child focus meetings, and there are great books available at meetings and online or by mail. One is called From Survival To Recovery. A daily reader that is geared toward adult children is called Hope For Today.
I hope you find the answers you seek!
Peace!

Far as I know there is no "Basic Text" available for the 12 Step Fellowship of ACoA but one is currently being developed. If you would like to expedite the process ;
You can mail your tax deductible contribution to
ACA WSO, P.O. Box 3216, Torrance, CA 90510, or go to
the ACA website at www.acawso.org and donate via
PayPal. Either way, be sure to designate your
contribution specifically for the Handbook.
In the meantime there are a lot of useful literature available that can help to further your understanding of the Acoa syndrome.
