Thanks for the heads up MG! Been to all sorts of meetings - but my gut tells me a dual dx meeting is the way to let go and get more healing.
Thx too for making me feel welcome here. If ever I can return serve, I'm open.

Hiroko,
Welcome to the Board. MG is one of our greatest resources for information and help. Your question was helpful to me since I also suffer from dual-dx, and never even considered that there might be meetings that could encompass both.
I hope you find the help you are seeking.
Keep coming back.
Juls

dual dx meetings
Thx for the welcome Juls -
Funny, I was looking into stuff about manic depression and came upon the suggestion of a dual diagnosis meeting while visiting another forum. I've been in program (Alanon) for years and never even heard of it. I realize that when the AA meetings are not the number one priority in our household, that seems to be when the down swing of the mania excellerates. I really thank God for this program and for people like you who do keep coming back. Thanks.

"Double Trouble" is the name of one 12 step recovery group for people suffering from a dual diagnosis (assuming here you mean addicition and mental illness. We have meetings here in the Raleigh area and I think they are "everywhere".
Here is a page with some good links on it.

You can e-mail me privately if you wish.
Hugs.

Glad it was useful. Here's another link to the page I had originally been looking for. They have it listed under "Dual Recovery" now, not "Double Trouble" although that's the name of the group here in Raleigh.

Dearest Jon:
Make that Tri-dx! We just added O.A. - and hubby lost 14 lbs after the first 3.5 wks worth of meetings! WOW! I better lay off the ice-cream or he'll steal the show!
Thx again 4 being there! Glad you like the site. Hope you visit again after I post the the new tunes in a couple weeks. (Always need feedback!)
love to you and yours,
