Smile 50 Days :)

I now have 50 alcohol free days in a row! I am so very proud and plan to continue on this path. I can't wait to see the continued positive improvements in life since stopping. It has not been easy at all and the last two nights I had drinking dreams. Not sure why but I'm glad the drinking is kept to my sleep life only. Here's to waking tomorrow sober and hangover free.

HI Dee, I've only had a couple gigs during these 50 days. My gigs really start up in February through March though so I know I need to prepare for that. I'm glad I'll have a good number of days behind me when the gigging season hits but yes, that'll add to the challenge for sure.

Onward you go achieving continuous sobriety and learning
to build a strong, solid recovery foundation to live upon daily.

Congratulations. You are on your way at 50 days. I can understand "can't wait" and some of the effects will show up rather quickly, but other stuff happened to me so slowly that I didn't even realize it as it was happening. After years of sobriety, I sometimes take an inventory, and realize how much more content I am, and sometimes I'm not even sure how I got here.

Drinking dreams are oddly common among alcoholics in recovery. They can be unsettling and nightmarish. I equate them with progress. In my case, during the period of my drinking dreams, I had not yet resolved my fears of of a relapse. I didn't have my feet planted firmly on the ground so to speak. And those fears would manifest themselves in my drinking dreams. I don't have them anymore.

Congratulations on 50. I will warn you it could get a bit rocky some days between here and 100. Most felt good but a few felt like I just quit. Be sure you come here and talk to others when it does happen. In my case it started getting even better after 100.
