Day 5
Hi everyone. Day 5… still not wanting to drink. Feeling clear minded. Went to the dr yesterday and it turns out I had pneumonia in my ear (hard to explain). But is called pseudomonas’s … and bronchitis. So I was given a breathing treatment , antibiotics and an inhaler. I’m relieved to know what was going on. Still no real detox symptoms… Only thing is vivid dreams and nightmares (a bit). I had a dream where I was drinking and woke up relieved. Since I’ve been so sick with the pneumonia I haven’t been around my friends in like a week but I talked to one of my closest friends last night on the phone for an hour and the night before …. Both times she was intoxicated… my sisters dog died last night. She called me crying. She is a super strong woman so it was tough to hear her so broken. I was so happy I was 100% sober and was able to be really present for her … it made me feel proud of myself. I’m thankful for everyone again on here. It really is a mini family. I hope this cough stops soon. At least it feels like it’s breaking up in my chest now (after only 1 day of antibiotics)… hope everyone has a great day.
Good job on day 5. Being fully present for your sister when she needed you during her grief reminds me of the gift that sobriety is and why I never want to drink again, because I have had similar experiences and it makes me so grateful for my recovery so that I can take care of what really matters in life. Great job, you should be proud! Sobriety is a gift that keeps on giving.

Thank you everyone with the 3 weeks before and almost week now I really feel like the cycle of habit is starting to break … I am emotional for sure. It’s also PMS time so it makes sense. But I’m pretty certain it’s feeling all my feelings. It’s pretty cool to not even notice anymore that there isn’t wine in the house. Thank you all again. I’m super thankful
