Serenity, courage and wisdom - powerful stuff

I am very early in recovery, and I am not an AA person.
But the absolute beauty and simplicity of the Serenity Prayer has hit me like a ton of freaking bricks today.
Serenity - to accept and not worry about things I have no control over. Courage - if it is something I can control - having the courage, the strength, and the will to do it is mine (and mine alone)Wisdom - of course - the wisdom and the smarts to figure out if this is something I can change or control.
If you have those 3 things in your life, plus love of others and yourself, you should do alright as a person.
I cant be the first person to have had this aha moment.

Was very powerful to me in early recovery. Still powerful now I guess as great wisdom is always great wisdom. Theres a reason why it is said at the end of every AA meeting. The key with all of recovery is actively practicing it in life.

Learning how to "live" the serenity prayer is changing my life. It's profoundly simple, but not as easy to put into practice. I'm getting there.
You don't have to be an AA person or even an alcoholic to appreciate and embrace the serenity prayer. It can work for anyone.

Love this prayer too and continue to incorporate it in all areas of my life.

I even have it on pendant I wear around my neck everyday.

It's a great thing when you get that aha moment..I hear it described in AA as the 18 inch drop from the head to the heart and I have had many of those in my recobvery and the Serenity Prayer is so beautiful yet so simple and I use it all the time.

I am glad you got that aha moment ❤❤
