Failed
It can be very frustrating, especially if you have made a firm and deliberate choice to stay sober. Maybe have a look at how you came to take that fatal first drink.
Where you irritated, restless or discontent before hand. Did you think seriously about it and deliberately change your mind - would that have been a sane decision based on what always happens? Did you not think at all, was it just a thoughtless moment? Pinning down what happens may be a help in selecting an effective solution.

You can do this. I am new to this too, and I don’t have a lot of support at home, so the first thing I do when the inklings come, when the voice calls, I come right on here and read and post. At this point in my recovery, I come on here 4 - 5 times a day. It does matter, and you matter. I hope you wake with a new resolve to quit, and not hopelessness. There is always hope the next day.

, I’m glad you came here and posted, that shows that you want to get sober. It took me a while to finally get sobriety right, and I am so glad I never gave up. I have four years and four months (May 1) sober and life is so much better.<div><br></div><div>Keep reading and posting here, spend some time reading about plans that have worked for others on here. Re: Failed
Sometimes this leads to future success. It happened to me a couple times and I was finally convinced that I could never again touch a drop of alcohol. Trying to use willpower to control myself was out the window. I needed to completely surrender to the knowledge that once I drank anything could happen. Let us try this again Orchid! You can do it.
