Another physical question -- Sorry

Err for lack of a better word I was very gassy during my using (and in early sobriety). Such that when I asked for a tranvaginal ultrasound (doctor didn't feel need for it, but with my wacky periods I wanted it) they couldn't visualize it errr...through the gas/bloating (so embarrassing).

Is this my GI tract getting used to the new normal?

Sorry for all the q's. Not looking for medical advice and have already talked to my PCP by video multiple times, she just doesn't have that much experience in addiction and recovery so can't answer every question I have lol.

Just stay sober and your healing will take many forms.

My body, mind and spirit were pretty beat up and it took nearly a year before I felt normal.

I think it's pretty common to fixate on physiological issues in early sobriety - but try not to catastrophize! Being sober and doing all the right things has served me very well.

Good food, lots of water, some exercise every day and eight hours of sleep all leads to a happy healthy body.

yes, give your body time. One of the benefits of sobriety for me was the normalization of the function of my GI tract!

Yet another form of havoc alcohol wreaks on our bodies.

It was one of the motivations that helped me keep on. Seeing how my body healing and getting back to normal.

Be sure to drink enough water. (I don't think that's medical advice; just good advice for all of us!)

How's your breathing? Sounds like you might be taking in more air....

How's your eating? Are you eating foods that create air?

Maybe talk with your doctor?
