Just passed two years sober
but there are other things on my mind and in my life that dampen the celebration. That said, nothing, truly nothing, is more important to me than staying sober. And the reason for that is that all the things which matter in a person's life - relationships, values, family, freedom, peace, love, self-worth, presence - are fortified, sustained and allowed by my sobriety.
I feel proud that I got sober. I feel lucky that the timing of my sobriety allowed me to be sober for some beautiful and meaningful things to come my way. And I feel lucky that I got sober before losing one of the most important people in my life to this horrible pandemic.
Nothing is there for you at the bottom of another bottle, nothing was ever really there for me. I worked to put it behind me for good. Thank you to SR for being the only resource outside of my Self that got me sober. It's means the world.

lessgravity, I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. But very glad that you're here with us, fully present.
I don't know if you remember grtgrandpa, but he told me that the third year was when the spiritual recovery really began. May it be so for you
