Tonight I'll pick up my 60 day chip! I'm working with a sponsor regularly and I'm currently on step 4. My anxiety is almost non-existent and my depression rarely shows its ugly head. I've slept every single night since quitting although I need to start going to bed earlier before the insomnia flares up again. I got a ring that monitors sleep and it's been yelling at me to go to bed sooner. I do wish I could stay asleep the whole night. My typical night is waking up about every 2 hours but I do fall back asleep sooner. Thanks for listening!

I've suffered from insomnia my whole life it seems like. I do the exact same thing as you, waking up every couple of hours. Congratulations on your hard fought and well deserved 2 months.

Thank you guys/gals so much for all the encouraging replies! Complete sobriety has really been eye opening. I'm still tapering off of Ativan (down to 0.375 mg/night) and should be completely off of it in a couple of weeks. I'll continue taking trazodone for sleep but will eventually attempt to taper slowly off of it as well. This board and AA have helped me in so many ways. I especially enjoy some of the new friendships I've made at AA. I've told these people things I would never have shared with my non-sober friends. I've also heard some incredibly sad and powerful stories in those rooms that show alcohol addiction in its true light. Had I just chosen to go at this alone I think eventually my AV would have convinced me that I never really had a problem and could eventually drink "normally".
