Practical Parts of the Plan

I am 3 weeks sober and really working on my plan to stay sober. I love the sober group meeting that I have been attending on a daily basis and I have really gone through the ink writing down all of my "why's" for becoming and staying sober. But one of the scariest parts of my plan has been making dental and medical appointments and taking stock of the harm I have caused myself through 2-3 decades of neglect. Still though, there is a deep satisfaction in taking the reigns of my physical health too. Grateful that I am making it back to being a normal peson again.

I hope you'll find like most of us have that our fears are greater than the reality when it comes to physicals and such.

wishing you good results

Thanks Dee and SoberRican. I just finished up a few really long days in the dentist's chair while they sorted out my teeth and got everything repaired. Tomorrow, to the doc for a full physical. I was scared at first but I am so glad to be alive after what I did to myself, I don't care what the results are. Sober and calm I can deal with the situation, come what may.

Really glad you are taking this critical steps. It was terrifying for me. Once I quit drinking tho and knew I had to be done permanently, I had to get all the info and then address it.

Best to you- keeping sober is the only way to heal in all ways.
