I got a cold. Reminds me why I don't drink....

I've been feeling like trash for two days now. Cold, hot,hot cold, stuffy, jittery. Prob a fever.

Weird I used to feel like this all the damn time.

Been sober since September 2017 and this recent sickness has made me really happy that I stopped.

Hope you feel better soon. Good work on your sobriety. Drinking never helps cure anything anyway.

Yes! I used to feel like death warmed over every morning.

Now when I'm sick, which isn't often, I feel like I did when I drank, and it's an unpleasant reminder of what I used to do to myself.

Not anymore!

Ramius - great post. I got sick a couple of weeks ago. Body aches, sore throat etc. For a few days I woke up feeling like crap. It was sort of like being hung over. Except w/o the guilt and shame.

Sorry you are sick ramius, and hope you are well soon. Totally agree with you - felt a lot of those things every day by the end, too - and when I was also legitimately sick I still did my best to drink. Ugh.

I went thru a spate of colds and even strep the first fall I was sober. It was so disgusting to think of adding wine or vodka to that!!!
