New here: Not new to drinking or tying to quit!
Hi:
I really don't know where to start or what exactly to say.
I have struggled with alcohol ever since I was in my mid 20's.
I have tried to quit so many times with very little success.
My body is telling me it is time to stop or I am going to end up dead or very very sick.
I look forward to reading others stories and advise.
Thanks everyone.

Hi and welcome need2stop65
I was at the end of my tether when I found this place. The community here gave me the encouragement to change my life and cut drinking out entirely,
I reckon it saved my life.
I know we can help you do the same

Welcome. I was in the same boat a few months back. I woke up from a bad bender-4 days- and couldn't even hold water down without throwing up. I knew I had to change or my life was going to end very soon and there were still things I had not done and people I still loved in this world. I decided to get sober. It was hard for me to get the wheels turning at first since I didn't know where to start but the quickest thing I did was going to a sobriety meeting (aa in this case) to try and figure out what I could do. Its possible to come out of that dark place and I hope you continue to move in a good direction, even ifs its small steps at first. you can do it.
Congratulations on a day. I know all too well how hard that first day is.
As SR says, I do it on day at a time.
You will not drink today. That is awesome. Put those two days together and you're off to a great start.
Best to you, and I hope you keep on posting.

That's awesome. Perhaps join the Class of Nov 2019 thread under Newcomers. Just post to join! My Class of Feb 2016 was awesome and we were a great support for each other being in the same timing of our start and ongoing journey.
Others can tell you about their recovery programs - some folks like Dee structured and use SR as the vehicle....I am an AA person (after much kicking and screaming to say the least). I need the IRL support and connection with folks like me.
Go to bed tonight sober and it's one more day of sober victory!
