Hello again
Hello to anybody that I have spoken to on here before. I hope you are all doing well or at least surviving.
I was in the May group and had a drink free May 2019, then June was mixed, I had about 7 weeks drink free in July/August and then picked up where I had left of in September and started drinking again.
Luckily when I was in fighting mode at the beginning of the summer, I made an appointment to see a psychiatrist and I've been to specialist clinic this month.
I've tried this before and this time am going to try something new, group therapy. It's a general group for people who have suffered addictions, so not just alcohol. I'll have that and also see the therapist on and individual basis.
I feel positive as although I've made a few attempts and failed, each time I've learnt something and have learnt what doesn't work for me.
As always, it's scary at the beginning.

Thank you. That's why I've decided to go to the group sessions, it was something I'd not wanted to do before and now I feel open to all help.
It sounds like you have established what doesn't work (i.e. whatever you were doing over the course of the last 5 months).
I suggest that you engage in some due diligence as to plans or programs of recovery that some of the folks on these forums have successfully used to get and stay sober.
In other words, it sounds like you need to try to determine what does work and follow the guidelines of that program.
Please keep us posted as to your progress.
I also suggest that you check out the Alcoholism section of the forum.
