Feeling positive today

So I asked not long ago...will everyday be a battle...and today and yesterday it hasn't been 😊 I'm happly I'm sober there's no fight left I don't want or need a drink to blot out these feelings today.
2 years ao I made a decision I deeply regret I left my partner of 13 years...I quickly (toooo quickly) got into another relationship which now I don't know if I should be in...but basically I haven't coped and I've masked everything by drinking but today I don't want to feel drunk I don't want to feel sick I want to be concious make myself better and then move forward... I left because I thought the grass would be greener and because I thought he was holding me back...I didn't realise relationships take work and boy do I wish I put that work in now...but I've realised one thing the only place the grass is truly green is me being sober and the only thing that has ever held me back is alcohol....I have so much work to do but for the first time I'm ready and more importantly I want this more than anything sorry for my rambling but Ive never had anywhere I can get stuff out
hope you all have a great day ❤

You may end up leaving current partner when you get strong enough..but for now just focus on you and your internal happiness and sobriety.

I left a 22 year relationship after I was a year sober in 2006...I had to do it or I was going to drink again....

I love what you said about the only place the grass is known to be greener is in your own pasture if you are sober (I am paraphrasing). What an empowering concept. I’m glad you’ve had some easier days in with the tough. Guess improving our own situation also takes work, not unlike a relationship or tending a pasture I suppose. My, how I like to get carried away on a metaphor. Anyhow, thanks for your post!
