Rollercoaster

Coming to the end of day 14, sober which is great but my emotions are all over place. Had a lovely day been for meal and cinema with son. But now i just feel so stressed and anxious for no particular reason ?! Ive got butterflies and a churning stomach!!
I suppose im not used to just feeling and riding emotions out, but it really is like being on a rollercoaster!! Do things level out with time ?

Congratulations on fourteen days, that is awesome. And it's great that you're getting out with your son and doing things. That also is awesome. At two weeks I was still in bed sweating and full of anxiety. Sounds like you've got a little of that going on.
Just goes to shows you, everyone is different. But , at the same time, a little alike if that makes sense.
I hope your emotions straighten themselves out in a hurry.
And yes, things will get MUCH better with time

So glad you got out and had a very nice day despite how you're feeling.
Just hang in there.
Best to you.

Yes, things will even out the longer you're sober. It does get better.

Hello. And yes things will start to chill out. You are still in early recovery mode. It will get better. I'm living proof at 88 days

Very normal. I went for walks every chance I got. Really helped me clear my head. Just keep hanging in there; you are doing so great. 😊

Echoing what the others said- it takes time! And it takes more than we want it to, no matter how many days or weeks or months it is! The only way to go thru the "smoothing out and evening out" is to keep sober every day.

Glad you are sharing!

I don't think many of us would stay sober if the emotional rollercoaster was permanent TB - thankfully it settles down.

2 weeks is great but give it a little time - we drank for years.

This is not the best it gets I promise

Hi..I think what you are are feeling is a combination of PAWS symptoms and also...just REAL feelings...that you probably haven't felt in a long time.

Every body organ YOU HAVE is screaming...what did you do with my alcohol? And organ...brain, liver, kidney, heart...all need to find the correct rhythms for operation.

Of course you feel weird...your used to being "numb"....And YES I promise it all does pass...when we stay sober for an extended period of time.

PAWs, if you get it at all, usually cuts in after 30 days - anything before that is most liekly just 'normal' withdrawal
