Day 11 here, the work week begins
Hello everyone, wishing you all a good week ahead.
Trying to make a plan as I have to go into the office this week on Thursday.
In the past this has always been a trigger to drink. Mostly from stress I think.
The memory of my last hangover is still pretty vivid but I need to reroute my plan so I don't fall into old habits.
Thanks for reading and happy Monday.

Happy Monday! I had a "work-related" trigger today myself. Helped with a building project at the church, and at the end one of the volunteers said, "I'm grabbing a bottle of wine on the way home and relaxing this evening!" And there it was..."Yeah, we've all earned it. We're tired, we're sore, we did a good thing!"
Not giving in, though. There is no way a drink today helps me have a better tomorrow.

Always remember the hangover. Is it worth it, simple answer is no! If at any stage I feel the AV coming, I think of how much having a drink will steal the happiness from the next day. Good work on the 11 days!

Hi Dee, sorry just saw this!
Thanks for asking.
Honestly, I don’t have anything structured in place other than SR and a set of new habits for my days/nights.
It’s day 13 today and I haven’t had a trigger or craving.
I know what will be hard will be social or work situations where alcohol is featured.
It comes down to just not drinking and not feeling the need to explain or satisfy anyone’s curiosity as to why.
I tend to be a people pleaser and that is something I am looking at in the context of drinking and in my life.
Planning ahead for things will help I think and making it ok to leave or just not go.
Am a single dog and horse Mom and it gets lonely sometimes but I am going forward as a non-drinker. Anyone or anything that can’t handle that may not belong in my world.
Have a great evening and thank you.
