Hi All. I’ll haven’t had a drink in 22 days. I’ve been reading this forum for 22 days and thought I should hop on and say hello.
This forum has been very helpful in getting through the days and realizing that I’m not alone and that my experience is shared by so many. I’ve also found this site to be helpful in navigating socializing while sober.
So far I have made it through a camping weekend with friends and family - formerly a complete drunk fest. I’ve made it through a friend’s party and through the Fourth of July. Whew....
I enjoy being clear and refreshed on a daily basis. Not to say that this isn’t tough, being out and about is very difficult and my mood swings are out of this world, but very happy to have a place to land here on SR to help reinforce my decision not to drink on a daily basis.

22 days is inspiring to a Day one guy like me. I hope participating in this place strengthens your resolve to stay sober. It helps me, I know to hear from folks ahead of me on the journey on that to expect.

Welcome Atlast. I'm glad you're posting. 22 days is spectacular! SR is a huge help to me. I try to spend as much time as I can here. Some days I don't post much, but I read every day and check in with the 24 hour thread. I'm glad it is helping you too.

I'm glad you didn't cave & pick up at any of those events. I think every time we make it over one of those hurdles we grow stronger. I thought things were going to be so boring without drinking . Turns out, I was boring because I was staying numb & foggy all the time. Happy you are here.

huge congratulations on 22 days that's a fantastic achievement, keep on doing what you're doing.
