Such was his rare ability to transmit grace
Such was his rare ability to transmit grace
I was perusing Barefoots World this evening and came across a reference to NATIONAL CLERGY CONFERENCE ON ALCOHOLISM
THE "BLUE BOOK", Vol. 12, 179-210, 1960. I had never read nor heard of this before.
Alcoholics Anonymous, NATIONAL CLERGY CONFERENCE ON ALCOHOLISM, THE "BLUE BOOK", Vol. 12, 179-210, 1960
For those who appreciate AA history, they might find this of interest as I did.
Today in a meeting as we discussed spiritual awakening, a friend shared his experience of being in the presence of others who have undoubtedly had an awakening as being readily apparent. Most of us would likely agree.
I came across this passage from the above referenced link from Bill W which I believe is on point. I wasn't searching for anything related to today's meeting topic - just FYI. However, this popped up on my radar as mentioned while doing some mining on BF world. Thanks Bob
"Then I began to be aware of one of the most remarkable pair of eyes I had ever seen. And, as we talked on, the room increasingly filled with what seemed to me to be the presence of God which flowed through my new friend. It was one of the most extraordinary experiences that I have ever had. Such was his rare ability to transmit grace. Nor was my experience at all unique. Hundreds of AA’s have reported having exactly this experience when in his presence."
Bill's comment was in reference to Father Ed.
