Hi all. I've failed at staying sober over and over. Too many times to count. My family is fed up with me. My husband hates me. My daughter is afraid of me when I'm drunk. The shame is suffocating. I'm terrified that I'll die from this disease. I don't want this anymore.

Yes, the shame and guilt can be overwhelming, but don't allow those feelings to prevent you from starting to heal. You can stop drinking and be the person you want to be and we are here to support you.

Thanks everyone. Last drink was Friday. I'm going back to AA. I'm not really comfortable there, not into groups and public speaking etc, but I've got to do something.

It's a brutal life giving in to our addiction. 3 days in is excellent. Stay strong and keep in touch with us.
