Useful hints

The two things that have helped me the most are "One thing at a time" and "Easy does it". These are not new. They go back to 500 B.C.E. Daoism: "By doing one thing at a time everything gets done. Attempt to do many things at a time and nothing gets done." "Don't hurry. Keep it simple.".

Always good to read your posts,Bill. I'm only a bit over a year(not a day counter),but in the last 3months(?) I've noticed I'm telling others to "slow down...handle what you CAN and then go to the next thing you can handle." When they seemed overwhelmed with..life's obstacles ? Kinda weird being a 40+yr old guy and I'm just 'learning' this concept towards life. Very freeing!

Well said, Bill. One foot in front of the other, one step at a time.

It was a great gift to me (and those around me) when i learnt to slow down. Do one thing at a time.

The muddle, chaos melted away. The feeling of being frantic.

Thanks Bill. I have lots on my plate and find myself paralyzed and hence, not really getting anything done. Simple concept, but good to have it pointed out.

P.S. Another helpful one is living in the NOW. See Eckhart Tolle's book.
Also the late Ernie Kurtz' book on learning from imperfection, even failure. Stooping and putting one's life back together with "worn out tools". See Kipling's poem "If".
