Double Digits
10 days today. I am in another state right now because I am having an elective surgery on Wed. for something I have been wanting to do and now had the time since have leave of absence from work. Can’t wait to get back to CA though because I know my meetings are important in my early sobriety. There are meetings here too I’m sure but the doctor wants me to stay inside and rest so don’t catch a cold or something.
Sending prayers for a successful surgery
and a speedy recovery by following your
doctors instructions and continuous focus
and work on your recovery program.
Use all your recovery resources to
stay connected while you heal properly.
Good luck..!!!!

Thank you. There is minimal healing after the surgery so that should be quick. It’s pretty minor. It was so nice to wake up today without a hangover. The hangovers set me back physically and emotionally for about 2 days, it was really bad. So nice to wake up with my body feeling normal and balanced.
It's sooo nice to live without hangovers. I was existing in a perma-hangover....I just felt bad all the time. I felt so bad that I thought it was just normal to feel horrible all the time. There's no comparison to being able to get up in the morning, feel great, eat a nice breakfast and head to work.

It was so nice today being able to calmly Uber (since I am in another state) to my preop appt. I knew deep down that had I drank at the airport or yesterday, this whole thing could have been screwed up because my life would have shifted from a calm, no drinking one to an unpredictable, chaotic drinking one. I have realized how happy and at peace I am when not drinking and how immediately miserable and restless I become when drinking because everything (thoughts and behaviors) are focused around the next drink.

Now 11 days. At the end of my last drinking days, I started to do very irrational things. So glad I don’t have to worry about that anymore. Life is so much calmer and peaceful sober. Can’t wait to get back to my meetings once my surgery is over and I am back home in CA on Friday.
