Just discovered the forum
Hi, Reggie here (golfreggie). 27-1/2 yrs sober in April. Like to join your forum and read and perhaps contribute from time to time. Used AA along with Christian recovery groups. Attended an average of 3-7 AA meetings a week for about 15 years, then gravitated to using church and occasional Celebrate Recovery/Overcomers Outreach meetings. Faithfully attended the Sunflower Roundup in Kansas City, Ks for many years, and had the privilege of reading the Promises at a Sunday morning speaker meeting. What a joy. I made so many lifelong friends in recovery. For the last several years have been using my faith and church involvement and sharing my story in public occasionally. Just this week I was introduced to a man who has about 150 days needing a sponsor, so will be getting involved with that. I am not in great health so don't know how "involved" I will be as far as going to meetings with him as we live about 35 miles apart, and I still work 5 days a week. I am praying that the Lord will guide my decisions and keep my new friends recovery at heart. But, a pleasure to be a forum member and I am sure I will glean wisdom from your collective experience, strength and hope. Thanks

Welcome Reggie.
My sponsor never took me to meetings, in fact I am petty sure he never changed his meeting attendance on my account. He did however take me through the steps. A lot of that was done at his house, none of it at meetings. It seemed to work out ok.

No clue where Princeton, TX is but I've got a couple buddies in AA in Texas. Hope you get something out of coming here and I hope you have some good stuff to give out as well.
