Back on day 2
Hey Mummyto2. You know, people do let each other down all the time, and we let ourselves down as well. There is no reason on earth why you would get to be the exception to that particular human trait.
The question is what are you prepared to do now to help ensure that it doesn't happen again? Feeling sorry for ourselves, mixed in with a good dose of self-loathing isn't really helpful. It just uses energy that we could be making better use of in other ways- like committing to a recovery plan, and to staying sober one day at a time.
What could you add to your recovery plan this time round do you think?

You have not let anyone down... you had a slip... and you made the decision to get back on the wagon rather than continue to fall. You should be proud of yourself for realizing what happened and making an active decision to get back on the wagon.
Your addition is a lifelong challenge, and one that will have many slips (unfortunately). My wife had 8+ years sober before she started down the wrong path and let her addition take over her life. She is not in recovery, working a program and building on it. We know that another slip/lapse/relapse is possible, but i am proud of her for getting back into her program.
All the best, and you have plenty of support here... keep up the good work...
