Wtf is wrong with people?!
Jeez! Have to vent! Monday mornings in our house are always stressfull (kids not finding school ties/shoes/locker keys etc) Even tho I do my very best to ensure they are all sorted on Sunday eve.. its always the same.
Anyway this morning - early start for us all as Hubby starting his new job, and I had to drop him there a hour away before the school run.
Bearing in mind Ive not dont the school run is such a long while (always groggy from the wine before) not wanting to get out of bed, and generally not helping hubby at all in the mornings. But now 5 days no wine - its getting easier
Eventually we all got out of the house, only to find some A-Hole had let our tyres down. We have to park on the street, its a quiet lane in a small village... the black tyres caps were loose and you could see someone had jabbed something into the valves.. we were all gutted.
We had to call taxis for school kids and for hubby to get to work, and a call out for a mobile tyre repair.. all in all over £250 out of pocket -
Im sat here now.. feeling really hurt that a)someone has done that to us b) the kids were scared at the panic c) the bloody wine that is behind the microwave is calling my name... Help!

I'm really sorry your day started so badly but if you drink that wine, it'll end badly too - and the badness will probably carry on into tomorrow...
any reason why you're keeping wine in the house? I'd get rid of it.

That wine behind the microwave is grape juice with yeast excrement in it. It doesn't speak. Your brain is telling you to drink to cope with the stress because that is what you've always done.
Today is going to be a GREAT day, because today is the day you get to start teaching your brain to think new thoughts about coping with stress.
You can do this!

I think its there because if it is isnt - I know I will crave it even more. This may sound stupid.. I wont open it, I have the support I need on here now too.
sounds like a bit of AV mind-trickery to me marshygirl.
What I would say to that thought would be - I can deal with wanting to drink...but I'd have to go out to get it and so I'd have many opportunities to change my mind.
In the house - all it needs is just one second, one 'screw it' thought and you're back n the hole.
I think maybe you're scared? That bottle is a safety blanket, it's you having a bob each way.
I get that - but you don't need it
You're a non drinker. Non drinkers don't keep wine on the house for no good reason.

Why would anyone do that? I am so sorry that you had to go through this just when you were feeling on top of things. But just think, you could handle it because you were clearheaded. Pat yourself on the back.
Then ditch the wine.
Then ditch the wine.

I don't understand why idiots would do that but i,m sure it was just a random car , still didn't help you though .
Last Tuesday was like that for me , left 8am to get in the queue first at the xray dept , warning light says check tyre pressure , got to hospital and the tyre was half down ,got xray ,came back out tyre was 90 percent down . risked driving a few hundred yards to the BP station for air ( no spare in car ) ,the garage was closed due to power cut , the rain was chucking it down . The lovely man braved the rain to blow my tyre up with his 12 v portable machine , got to quickfit was told 3 hour wait ,got to next quickfit was told 2 hour wait , got to next quickfit waited an hour and got a new tyre .
Crap days happen even after 3 weeks of dealing with a flooded house other sh**t goes on . Role on February at least I might get a St Valentines card .
PS : you should buy one of those portable 12v tyre inflating gadgets , they are quite slow but do the job .
PS 2 : The guy from quickfit told me I had one in my boot under some other tools in a recess all the time and stupid me didnt even know .

Put superglue around the black caps protecting the valve and then keep a lookout for someone with them stuck to their fingers the next day!
A camera might be worth investing in, something like this should do it https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HD-720P-W...item282b8e91ef

Yay for you tipping that wine away, that took strength, especially on a bad day.
I’m sure you are a victim of random morony, a horrible feeling, but not aimed at you personally. I think these difficult days are when the AV can become stronger as it perceives chinks in our sober armour. Really well done for getting through a tough morning.

Keep perspective. In the grand scheme of things, somebody letting a little air out of your tires is not a big deal. A relapse is a big deal - at some point, it will destroy your entire life and possibly kill you.
The irony, of course, is that there is a pretty good chance that the person who let the air out of your tires was drunk or high.
Nice job on pouring out the wine! When you tell this story a year or two from now, it will be a happy story because you were challenged and you maintained your sobriety. Smile. Congratulate yourself.

I will not drink with y’all today
Marshy-Sorry for what's happened to you car. I would think it feels like you've been violated. My car was broke into one time while traveling away from home and my bag was stolen. We filed a police report on that one and luckily we could call our bank and stop payment on things. But it just felt crappy (for lack of a better word); it felt like a violation. There were shards of glass everywhere and we had to replace the backseat as well as the windows. I think it was the violation more than sheer anger as the chief emotion I felt. I was angry too, don't get me wrong....but the violation was more profound. Anyways, you know drinking isn't going to fix anything. We're with you, so lean on us for support if you ever feel tempted. It sounds like you already have enough stress in your lives right now. Stress is a biggy, it really is. How we deal with stress is HUGE.
