I’m on day 1 and I’ve been doing great up till this past hour. I’m gaveling horrible cravings and all I can think about is having a drink.

How are you doing now? This is my day one too and I’d like to challenge you to our first sober day. Come on...tell that bugger you don’t drink anymore. I’ve had to remind myself that a few times today.

Thanks mate. I’m glad to know it’s more then just me on day 1. Im doing a little better. I just got off work and I think that’s what’s triggering it. I just really want to get through today so that I know I can do it. I hope your first day is going well.

well, cravings are gonna happen, no two ways around it. that's the grip of addiction. they are REALLY annoying, but nobody ever died from a craving. they come and they go. the less we pay attention to them, the more we focus on other things, the more likely they are to pass sooner.

some days are easier than others. i always tried to see cravings as a sign that i was doing it right, since cravings only came when i was NOT using.

rest - or stay busy.
eat healthy meals - or grab a bag of chips.
clean the garage - or binge watch something on Netflix.
there only rule you absolutely HAVE to follow is DO NOT DRINK.

I'm really glad you're getting through this, Unsteady. Do whatever it takes to distract yourself, even if just for a few minutes. You can do this!

Thank y’all so much for the support. I’m doing better I’ve been trying to keep my self busy. I think I’m gonna go take a long tub bath and then play video games with my wife.
