Unexpected Visitor this Morning

Major craving or whatever it was hit me last night but I didn’t know what it was...this morning I knew
I wanted to get buzzed
It’s gone now
But it just appeared
43 days and I’m aware that it can come at any time, I guess
Mental exclusively-no physical aspects
I’m going to remain aware

That's so scary. I'm only on day 7. I've been here before (a few times). No craving yet this go 'round, but they have sunk me in the past. You were just craving the feeling of being "buzzed"? Not the taste or anything?

Good for you resisting!

Thanks and yeah I was just wanting the buzz but it was resistable and nothing like the first couple of weeks
I told it “Hell no” and it went away

Rodney, here is a great thread on how to deal with the urge to drink:

Glad you made it through.

Man, good job staying strong. I'm on day 41 and I gotta say I was worried about the holiday season a little, but I managed better than expected.

Two days ago I had an urge while I was at work, but i managed to talk some sense into myself.

Keep it up

Hey, Rodney--good job on being awake and resisting. Cravings can come out of the blue, but as I increase my sober time I have found they come less and less. Still, I will occasionally have the thought that a drink would help my depression and anxiety, that I can handle it, that no one will know (but me, of course) -when I get these I just play the tape through and realize the shame, guilt and despair I would feel if I were to act on these whims, and the desire goes away. Stay on guard, and 43 days is awesome!
