Day 2 again (frustrating day)
Hi All,
I did well last night. Actually I loaded up on too much junk food but I didn't drink and then I fell asleep super early.
Today I am having an extremely frustrating day at work and I can hear the alcoholic part of my brain saying that at least I can drink tonight. But I can't. And that makes me angry. Is this normal (to feel angry)?
This is the kind of thinking that got me into trouble in the first place.
UGH!

The early stages of getting sober are very difficult - not going to sugar coat it. You'll need to do things you don't want to do, and it's going to be uncomfortable. Be prepared for it and have support ready at any moment - just like you did by coming here to SR to talk through this episode. You can make choices today that will have huge benefits down the road.
Drinking is your (old) normal 'go to', your AV's reward, etc, so yes, totally normal to feel anger.
I was all over the place in early recovery. The key for me was to stick with it, no matter what. No matter how bad I felt. It doesn't stay like this and, once you get through these tough early days, you never have to do them again and that is pretty awesome!
Keep going

It is very normal to hear that demonic voice suggesting that you drink. hat voice is what is referred to as your Addictive Voice (AV). One thing is an absolute certainty of us is that our AVs are consummate liars; don't believe a thing it tells you.
Do you have a Plan for sobriety, chowchow?
I will post a link to a great SR thread on that topic in a moment.
