10 days sober
I'm 10 days sober happy about a lot of things I don't have to deal with like spending money drinking...embarrassing myself or doing anything I shouldn't do but being sober makes me agitated over every little thing....feel like I'm more of an angry person and I'm probably not the most fun to be around...has anyone felt this way?
Yes, that happens to me when my AV is trying to get me to "lighten up and have some fun'. I get cranky because I am fighting with a stupid idea in my head that wants me to screw up my sobriety.

I think it's to be expected that we are cranky, depressed, anxious, unsure, angry or tearful?
We've been poisoning our bodies, minds and neurological system so abusively - why shouldn't we expect every fibre of our body (in early recovery) to be saying "Whoaaaaa! What the hell is this?????"
I'm on 30 days now and all I can tell you from my own fledgling experience is that it gets a tiny bit better day by day.
Regards,
JT

Yep. This is my second crack at sobriety first one lasted 3 years. Then fell off for the last year or so. I forgot just how difficult, frustrating and hazy the first few weeks sober were. Currently just over 2.
What keeps me going is not having hangovers and guilt, seeing the progression and remembering just how good it got each day after that. Not sure why I drifted but I can tell u it just gets better and I want it back
I'm sure u will find the same.

I think its very normal to feel irritable TR - but it passes.
It may sound a little corny but I found a daily gratitude list helps remind me of the good things in my life
The days when you don;t want to do it and throw the list across the room are probably the days you need it most

Yes, I was very touchy, argumentative, etc. We're learning to live in a whole new way. Everything will settle down as you begin to heal. Toughroad - congrats on your 10 days - you are doing this.
