Don't drink caffeine or anything with sugar in it less than 3 hours before bedtime. Reading helps me too.

Chocolate has caffeine and sugar in it - herbal tea would be better. Most tea shops have blends specifically to aid sleep.

I always found that if I'm physically tired
then I will sleep better. Meaning, ive worked
my body hard thru out the day and when its
time to lay down to sleep, my body welcomes
fresh, crisp, cool, clean sheets to lay on and
hug my exhausted body.

Our lives go thru different changes in our
life. We begin as children playing hard, going
to school, a full day and we go off to bed.
Then we grow up some more and we are
busy with HS, lots of different activities,
maybe band, sports, studies, dating, etc,
always on the go and at the end of the day
you are exhausted.

Once again, we go changes, maybe college,
marriage, career, family, always going going
going where we are pushed to the limit and
trying to make ends meet.

Many of us use substances, poisons into
our bodies to help cope, deal with, all
being toxic and addictive which affect
our mind, bodies and souls.

We're way off our natural bodies and
there for we don't know what is better
or heathier for us anymore because we
live day to day with our addiction robbing
us of how to live healthy, happy or honest.

We don't even know how to lay down
to get a good healthy nights sleep anymore.
So its time to relearn and teach ourselves
how to live life addiction free and healthier
ways to enjoy a better nights sleep that
can refresh us, prepare us for the next day.

We have to remember that we all have
punished our minds and bodies for so long
with everyday life, addiction, family, work,
play, careers, sports like aged worn out tires.

Now it's time to change them out for 4
new ones or 2 if you ride a motorcycle,
To give us more time to travel the roads
of life keeping us safe from the worlds
elements that rob us of a good nights sleep.

Where ever you are in life, you are older
than you once were. You have more life
experiences now. More roads traveled
and now we need to learn how to lay our
bodies down to sleep comfortably again.

Clear your mind of the days hecticness,
whin down, eat healthier, nothing heavy
to close to bed that would weigh heavy
on your stomach at night, use lower lighting
to set the mood before bed. Not the bright
lights of the tv or computer. Research low
lighting bulbs or how to lower computer
lighting will help.

Mediate, clear your mind, heart and soul
of the days resentments, anger, our behaviors
if not right. Connect to your Higher Power
for guidance, protection, placing worry, fear
and those loved one in His hands and thanks
for keepin you on the road of recovery today.

There is so many helpful solutions available
to each of us in todays time that we can research,
ask to help us achieve a healthier, better balanced
way of life and good nights sleep.

I have to do the footwork to achieve what
I'm looking for and it will work if I continue
to work for it. You can too.

I'm an early riser everyday at around 4:30
even tho I'm retired. I go to bed around 6 pm
every evening because I like getting up
early. Why? Early to bed, early to rise makes
me healthy, happy and wise. It's not perfect
but it works for me.

I luv waking up to the smell of our
fresh brewed coffee in the morning.
Just going to bed early knowing what
I have to look forward to each morning
is pretty cool.

I also do my best thinking early in
the morning so I can come here to
SR and share my ESH before the
afternoon when I begin to get tired
and cant think as freshly and strongly
as I do early in the morning.

I'm on my second cup of coffee and have
already made my round around the pool
with my flashlight to rescue baby frogs
and spiders and see a new flower bloomed
from all the rain yesterday.

Whew, talk about navigating around all
obsticals around the yard....lol Flowers,
steps, poles, bushes....

I ve got one little bird who has found a
sweet spot to sleep now for the past
week under the garage eve and is close
to the worm stash hanging near by.

He's a lucky little feather friend.
