Keep telling yourself how proud you are of how far youve come and while we all worry ,take it one day at a time and stay positive
Life is better without it

1. 99% is not enough so you had to do 100%

2. Keep doing something every day to remind yourself why you are doing what you are doing.

3. Put a sign on your fridge that says, "Demon p**s not allowed"

Helping newcomers is a great way of reminding ourelves where we were at the start of the journey and just how awful it was.

Reading our initial posts can be helpful as well (although mine have gone now as I think there was a change in server or something similar since I joined the forum).

Thank you, another great idea, I don't feel the need to drink at the mo, but I know the way my mind works, so I want to be prepared for when it comes

I do what Berry suggests: I like to read my original posts every once in a while. I also work my plan every day. Little things like reading a bit here in the am help me. Get my mindset going.

Keep hanging here. That always helps!

Instead of envisioning the pleasant colours and appealing graphic design on the wine bottle, practice imagining a skull and crossbones. We wouldn't drink bleach or antifreeze if we were in our right mind, why would we drink alcohol?

Here's a good one for the fridge, Mummyto2. I think this so true. Maybe you've seen it before.

Why we drank

We drank for happiness and became unhappy.
We drank for joy and became miserable.
We drank for sociability and became argumentative.
We drank for sophistication and became obnoxious.
We drank for friendship and made enemies.
We drank for sleep and awakened without rest.
We drank for strength and felt weak.
We drank “medicinally” and acquired health problems.
We drank for relaxation and got the shakes.
We drank for bravery and became afraid.
We drank for confidence and became doubtful.
We drank to make conversation easier and slurred our speech.
We drank to feel heavenly and ended up feeling like hell.
We drank to forget and were forever haunted.
We drank for freedom and became slaves.
We drank to erase problems and saw them multiply.
We drank to cope with life and invited death.

Don't make your sobriety contingent on remembering how terrible drinking was...cause you'll forget. Make a commitment to never drink again, no matter what.

BTW, I was worried at 25 days too. But the longer I stayed sober, the clearer the choice to remain sober became. And easier. You want to stay sober, learn to live and love life sober, then you can forget how terrible your drinking was. The blessings of your sober life will carry you through.

Write down on paper how bad your life was when drinking, write down what would happen to you and your family life if you picked up a drink again?

Think about things that will keep you sober. Don't think about things that will take you out.

Thinking is planting seeds. Why plant seeds that " I will stop forgetting how the demon p**s ruins lives" Plant seeds that you will always remember " how the demon p**s ruins lives".

Complacency terrifies me. I write lists and try to always be productive- regardless of how small the action. Meetings help.
