11th week sober
Hi all,
I'm a new member here, and today marks my 11th weeks sobriety. I just want to share my thoughts with everyone here. Yestetday i almost succumbed to the "Darkness" again because of some unfriendly friends who do not understand what it means to be an alcoholic, but thankfully i managed to stay sober. I know this battle wont be easy but i will win i'm sure.
Thank you in advance for your support.

I hear ya about dealing with people that "do not understand" ...
Great to see that you have gained strength from it !

I have a few real friends that don't understand and ask me;"Not even one beer?" Then I have "friends" that I only know/hung out with drinking. I've cut those "friends" out of my life completely, including my exgf. You need to ask yourself what do these friends bring into your life? Are they real friends or party friends? Either way sobriety is your decision and yours to own/protect at all cost.
