New things

Hi all,
I haven't posted in a while, but I've always been afraid of failure as far as school and learning. My motto has been for a long time, I can't learn so why bother.
Sports, I was very good at, school not so much. Today I had to take my son to a book store and I was looking at learning a new language. Right then and there I rolled the dice, and bought the audio books to learn German. I figure it will help my recovery and if I fail, so what for once in very long time I'm gonna try. Well no deep thoughts here, just thinking out loud a little. Hope everyone here is doing well and keeping it strong one day at a time.
Mick

Good for you, Mick! Ich habe acht Jahre Deutsch studiert, aber fast alles vergessen.

Let us know how it goes. That's actually a really good idea. I could certainly use a refresher and might look into that myself.

Sounds great Mick. I keep wanting to work on my Spanish, I didn't follow up after HS, and have lost some. Living in Southern California still allows me to hear Spanish, and I can pick out main messages, it I'm nowhere near fluent. I am contemplating studying with my daughter when she starts HS Spanish next year.

Download an app called Duolingo, it won't get you fluent, but it's fun and great to get you started/keep you fresh on basics, vocabulary, etc 😀

Hi Dee
My recovery is going very well, I still do AA every day either before or after work. Found out I really like club soda :-)

I think that's really neat that you are going to learn German. It's a beautiful language.
