Day Zero

I've drank today.

I went 30 days, I awoke on day 31 and my head was in a bad place. I should have fought it, but I didn't. It won and soon alcohol was being poured down my neck.

I am not looking for excuses. I drank. I was a day shy of a calendar month.

Tear me a new one, I deserve it, but it looks like tomorrow will be day one for me.

I've asked my older brother if I can go round his tonight and watch WWE with him, he's said yes, so the rest of my day is taken up, but tomorrow, I need to face up with what has happened.

Thank you people, as always.

I don't think tearing you a new one would help, Tynesider. In fact, I find it counterproductive. I was always harder on myself than anyone else could ever be. Making me feel worse would often send me right back to drinking.

So, I'm glad you're here. Tomorrow is a new day, a fresh start, perhaps a lesson learned. We're here for support... keep posting. You can do this!

30 days is something to be proud of. But stuff happens. What's important is how we deal with it. Learn from your mistake and move on. Good luck. John

I am so sorry, Tynesider.

As long as tomorrow is Day 1, all will be okay .

Shore up the holes in your plan and move forward with determination and resolve.

Tynesider you've come right back same day so that's a great thing. Plus you've made plans to keep yourself safe for the rest of the day. It could be so so much worse. Tomorrow is a new day. Get some rest and fight the good fight tomorrow.
Next time get yourself right here when you have a bad day. Bad days happen. Life isn't Disney just coz we don't drink. I've been literally latched onto SR some days and the support is amazing. I know without doubt I would be where I am now without it.
Take care xxx

We make mistakes throughout out whole lives in one way or another. I'm not necessarily afraid of making a mistake or failing, I am however, afraid that if I do not learn from my mistakes that I am doomed to repeat them.

What's my point? Hopefully you can learn something from the other night and that will carry you through next time.

No one will tear you a new one linesider. We've all been there my friend. I will tell you that I have dozens of failed attempts. Like Thomas11 said the key is to not give up, learn from your mistake and start again. You can do it

Draw a line under it and get straight back at it, tweak your plan and keep moving forward.

In 30 days you would have learnt a few things on how to be Sober, and gained a few tools for the Sober toolbox, so all is not lost, that's the place to start reflecting and building upon.

You can do this!!

Iv'e lost count of how many times Iv'e done day 1.

You can do it .

Thirty days is huge and that time is not wasted! Jump back on and start counting at "31 minus one"
