Happy Easter
Happy Easter
I wish everyone a happy Easter, no matter no you choose or not to celebrate it.
Do you have a favorite childhood memory of Easter ?
Mine (since you asked) is my grandparents and assorted family coming for afternoon dinner. My mom would make two hams - a "regular" one and a "country one." The latter was for her dad, who was a country boy. I tried it once, and think my sodium level shot up about 200%...
Granddad would take some of everything, letting it run together on his plate, and with his fork and whatever bread we were having, would methodically work his way through everything.
It's taken me a while, but I like to think he'd be proud of me now :-)

Over a Month Sober, of course he would . . . family sometimes don't say it, and sometimes the opportunity passes by, but changing your life for the better is something to be proud of!!
Easter was always a religious thing when growing up (Irish Catholic), but I do remember watching all the old great films on the TV, Ben Hur, Spartacus, generally historical based . . . I enjoyed watching them all in amongst the family/religious festivities!!

I've had no appetite at all today but the sound of the ham made my mouth water especially the bit about your granddadds plate! A roast always has to be like that for me, a bit of everything on my plate. Sounds delicious. Happy Easter!

To you as well ! Honestly, I don't eat much ham anymore; it was always a holiday go-to in my southern family, but the memories will always stick with me. I hope you can eat a little something today. If you're like me, hunger can be a dangerous thing - take care of YOU !
