Clean 3 months and it amazing, but.....

I've been off oxy and morphine for 3 months after 9 years of use. I'm feeling great and can actually see a future for myself again! Though most days are good, somedays when I wake up my whole body is shaking and feel so uncomfortable I can hardly stand it. Also I'm still experiencing diarrhea almost with every bowel movement. Is this normal? I don't know how long I'll be able to take this.

Go to the doctor. Diarrhea is serious.

Welcome to the site. Well done on your sobriety. Please go to a doctor.

Hi and Welcome to SR Cjohn. Congrats on 3mths! Fantastic!

So glad you are reaping the benefits of living a clean life

We all go through recovery differently and what you're experiencing may be that. But a visit to a GP would be a good idea, to either put your mind at rest or if there are issues there you can receive treatment.

It's important to look after yourself and your health.

Let us know how you go.

Welcome Cjohn

I'm another vote for the Doc - 3 months is a long time to deal with that.

Definitely go to the doctor. In the meantime, Hydrate. Eat nutritious food. You loose water and nutrition when having diarrhea. Drink water. And not just water. Add some squeezed juice. The particles in the juice helps the guts to absorb the water.

Thank you all very much for the advice! I haven't been worried about the diarrhea because it's not liquid just looser than it should be. It's also just once a day. Sorry to be so graphic about my bathroom adventures!!!

Is the shakiness and nervousness in the morning normal for being clean 3 months?

I don't know. I never had that. If it persists I say go to the doc.

How's your nutrition? Are you getting enough protein? Have you increased the caffeine now that you're clean, because that can do a number on you...

I sixth or seventh the doctor visit. You could have some thyroid dysfunction going on or some hypoglycemia. Be upfront about your history...doctors are usually thrilled to help patients who are helping themselves.

Congratulations on three months!

Yep Sweetie.. Time for that dreaded Doc visit. All the above are some very good reasons for seeking consultation. Please make an appointment soon.
3 months is a good time to get checked out.. Take Care!
And Congrats!!

I still vote for the Dr. He or she can answer all your questions and set your mind at ease

OK I have a Drs appointment for next Tuesday. I'm so scared at what they might find because I know what kind of torture I've put my body through.

Good for you for following through...it's always, always better to know because our brains can come up with stuff that's far worse than the reality99% of the time.

It won't be as bad as you think and for certain it will be better than it would have been had you spent the last three months using.

Sending you a hug.

Most of us find things aren't as bad as we feared
The trick then is to not turn that into a rationalisation to do some more damage...
