Starting to feel more level
Well,
Today is day 28 without a drink for me, and I'm starting to notice a difference in alot of things. I honestly feel that I'm working the program of AA and "putting myself in the middle of the herd". I haven't been posting here everyday but I have been doing alot of different things to get the results I'm getting.
- listening to speaker recordings EVERY day and learning so much from them.
- meeting with my sponsor 3 - 4 times a week to discuss my problems and my solutions
- going to meetings 3 - 4 times a week (I would go for 90 in 90 but my work schedule won't allow me to so sometimes I will do 2 in 1 day)
- reading my big book, daily reflections and the grapevine, and highlighting everything that relates to me and my life. This is great for my step 1.
- praying every morning to my higher power to take my will away and make me a channel so it can flow through me. (will usually pray throughout the day as well and try to remember to put something that I am grateful for in there)
- meeting with other members from different meetings for coffee and to just chat about everyday things
- putting an effort in to treat people the way I'd like to be treated
This is bringing me slow results which I have more confidence in and they feel more solid rather than drastic, fast results that I've grown accustomed to my whole life (the higher and faster I go up, the harder I fall).
One thing I'm really noticing is my resentments. I will actually notice when one pops into my head, and I literally feel like I'm watching it snowball into a craving. When this happens I'll try to remember to pray to take my resentment away, and it works. My nightmares are still every night but morning prayer also eases the stress when I wake up.
I feel like something has clicked for me this time but I'm trying to be careful not to look to far ahead and keep myself in the present time.
I thank you all for the love and support!

Kyng,
At 28 days I was a mess. At 90 days I was a mess.
I didn't start to feel routine amazing things for a good year.
I waited too long to finally quit.
So, if you start to feel things are not moving along as fast as you hope or want....
Know that I was in a living hell for a long long time.
Like they say....things will get better in the end....if they are not better...it's not the end.
Thanks.
