2 days sober
'It is suggested' attending as many as you can. Personally I attend 4 to 5 every week. I see people there with several years sobriety attending as many, some only one a week and so on. Basically if you want to get and stay sober via AA, as many as you need.
it is no great hardship either. I enjoy them and the people are generally speaking kind and helpful.

I did about 82 in 90 when I first quit. Now, at 345 days sober, my "sweet spot" for meetings has become 4-6 a week. If I get down to say 2, I self-correct the next week. I follow the mantra to focus on the people who "have what I want" and I, too, see many long term sober people at the different meetings I attend.
Meetings alone won't keep you sober. Great start and good thinking on getting started with AA - it has been a life saver for me and that's because I really work the program, the steps, the LIFE and have an invaluable support system of my sponsor and the other folks in my home group and other clubhouse who are examples of what I want to keep living.
Good luck!
