Anxiety
I've had major anxiety since about 3 am. I am seriously considering taking an Ativan that was prescribed to me last year to help with alcohol withdrawals and anxiety related to it. That means I can't drink if I do. Sounds like a no brainer to take the pill to relieve the anxiety, but I'm afraid to.
It makes sense to take it and just not drink tonight. I would feel better tomorrow. I have plans all day tomorrow with a group and I am the DD.
Why not start today to improve my life and quit once and for all? That is the million dollar question. The addicted brain is so screwed up.

You're having anxiety at 3:00 a.m. because that's what alcohol does to you...your blood sugar drops about that time and it wakes you up. Drinking also interferes with your REM sleep as a result.
Try eating something with carbs like peanut butter on a couple of crackers and wash it down with some milk. You may be able to go back to sleep without further drugging yourself.
You don't have to live this way. Please seriously consider following throughon quitting.
