Day 6 - so hard!

This is the day I ended up drinking last week. Day 6. Justifying. Just a drink. Just a bottle. It's not that bad.

I'm just uncomfortable today. For no reason other than not having a drink.

I cleaned the house, did laundry, cooked, gave the dog an extra long walk, watched a movie, took a two hour nap...and it's still only 3:30. Now what?

Not totally sure I'm gonna make it through the day sober.

Think about how you will feel when you wake up tomorrow morning.

Remember the reasons you don't want to drink....take a nice hot bath or just keep reading here...I know how you feel. It can be a real struggle. Keep telling yourself "you can do this- even if you think you can't.....Because you can!!!

Try to get thru just one hr at a time.

If it was easy we all wouldn't be here...you can do this!!!!

You're doing great! Keeping busy is a good idea. You can get through this Day 6 and then it will be a bit easier. Stay close to SR this evening and you'll find lots of support.

It's just discomfort. This will pass. Hang on.

The longer away from the bottle the easier it gets - but continuous sober time is the only way to heal.

You can do it, we did.

Hang in there, beingsober. Im on day 4 and am uncomfortable as well. I know just what youre going through. Good job posting and staying accountable. That's what Im trying to do.

Remember HALT - hungry, angry, lonely, tired. Im a little angry and lonely. Gets me every time. Try to figure out what you are and do something to rectify it.

Take the "not" out of that statement and work toward making it true. Don't drink. Remind yourself why you got sober.

Gallons of tea and biscuits and good films really help me at the minute.

You can!!!!

Don't start giving yourself excuses to drink. The further you go down that path of preparing yourself to drink today the harder it will be for you to turn back. Don't give up now - otherwise you'll just have to go through the tough early days again. Keep pushing ahead.

You can totally do it! Just think, tomorrow will be Day 7! Those first days are very hard, but over time your mind and body will start to feel great. It just takes time.

Hang in there!
