21 days Made it made it through all this!

-Last week got a 30 percent PAY CUT.
(instead of coming home and GETTING TRASHED)and "settling " - though "upset" Im now able to see its time pursue other job options BECAUSE IM WORTH MORE.
-Questioning everything
Oh boy - pull off the alcohol mask and I began to question EVERYTHING I do! - decided to give it time- be "stable" before making changes.
- Wrote a letter to a friend
A good friend who stood me up for lunch when I needed someone to talk to -the letter was real, from my heart expressing the fact that I feel disrespected.
ALL of these events would have been Nuclear drinking nights.
now- I made it through!

Alcohol only adds to problems.

My wife, who still drinks everyday, justifies her drinking by stating she had a hard life, worked through many obstacles and deserves to drink.

She doesn't understand that she could have done it all sober as well.

All Good stuff. I had realized that I had spent the last 10 years effectively "doing nothing" with my free time other than drink. That was my #1 form of "recreation". I did not learn anything new...go to any interesting places...did almost nothing in my free time except sit at a bar or at home drinking and half ass it through my workouts because i was exhausted and hung over.
Things are MUCH better now and they will continue to get better for you too.
Dont kid yourself - at times you will miss drinking and really want to have one (or 12). If you can get through the 20-40 min that the cravings usually last - you will be so glad the following morning. Good LUCK!

Just made it to three weeks myself yesterday, feels like a big achievement, keep it going! Everyday is another opportunity to make it one more day.
