One week today!

Today marks one full week since my last drink. I'm feeling good physically and emotionally. I finally slept through the night without an OTC sleeping aide but dreamt I was drinking. It took a few minutes upon waking to realize it was just a nightmare.

My daughter totaled her car last month so we will be car shopping this weekend. Plenty of stress as we argue over what she wants vs what we can afford. My husband still doesn't have a job but he's been talking to a company so hoping an offer is on the horizon. These are all "valid" reasons to drink in my mind (but what reason isn't?) but I won't do it. This past week has been exhausting and trying but my mind is finally quieting and I want to keep it that way.

Have a beautiful sober day everyone!!

Peace

Great job!! I know what you mean about the dreams... I'll wake up and be afraid to step out of bed, to realize I just dreamt about the dribking.

Munchkin,
One week is great! It gets better and better so stay strong. It is worth it! You will never know how strong you are at handling stress until you tackle it sober. You will be surprised at just how capable you are when you do. It is a great feeling!! Keep reminding yourself that YOU CAN DO THIS! ♡CR

Congrats! I'm not sure there are any valid reasons to drink...at least for me, there is nothing that drinking won't make worse.

I'd be leavin the kid at home for the car shopping. I want to shoot myself when I shoe shop with my kid, let alone a car

Funny, I had a drinking dream last night also.

I went to my first AA meeting yesterday - that was probably why!!

Congratulations on 7 days Munchkin and good luck to your husband in regards to the job

I still get the odd drinking dream after two years and they leave me a bit disturbed but touch wood they are spaced quite widely apart

Congrats!

Excellent! One week is awesome. It's great when you can see the real benefits of going through life's challenges sober! I'm only starting to get there myself.

I'm one week today as well - feeling like I want to go back to bed constantly, soooo tired. I'm like a nana! But great apart from that.

Congratulations on your week
